Welcome
We’ve had a few new paid subscribers, probably due to the thing below, so hello there, thanks for supporting this mad thing I’m doing. Check out the archives to see what I’ve been up to. And make sure to send me your postal address if you would like to receive stuff through your letterbox!
Sing Yonder Volume 1: The Album
If you follow me on the socials, you might have seen the very exciting announcement of the forthcoming Sing Yonder Vol. 1: The Album:
Not long after I started my grand folly of Sing Yonder, I had a simple yet mad idea. That my favourite artists would record versions of the songs in the books. It seemed an impossible dream, but with the encouragement of some of you lovely people, I pressed ahead, took my heart in my hands, and asked some brilliant musicians if they would choose a song from Sing Yonder one, and record a version that I could put out as a companion to the book, and to my amazement and joy, they pretty much all said yes. It has taken a *little* longer than I thought it would, but still, it is happening which is 100% more than I could ever have asked for. It’s finally all mastered (thanks to the wonderful Bon Holloway at High Peak Recordings), the new edition of the book is completed with the sleeve notes for the album, and I’m aiming for the currently deliberately vague release date of September 2023. I’m splitting all the proceeds between the artists (I’m getting nothing financially from it - support your favourite bands folks, they need you) so there is approximately £0 for marketing and publicity, so I’ll be relying on as many people as possible sharing it across social media. Preview links and a proper press release will be available in a couple of weeks.
If you are and/or know anybody who might be interested in covering the release, please let me know. I have no idea what I’m doing. H E L P M E.
Binder reminder
Thanks to those who recently have ordered the full set of books currently available. I love each and every darned one of you. I hope you enjoy using them. I mentioned it a while back, so sorry to those who are reading this again, scroll on. For the new Yonderfolk: if you find you are getting overwhelmed with little books cluttering up the place (trust me, I feel your pain), please allow me to invite you to consider organising them in a cordex magazine binder. I have this one* (choose A5 and 13 cords options).
* I’m not affiliated in any way with this company, feel free to buy elsewhere if you prefer, I think they are mostly the same.
You can then adorn it with your Sing Yonder stickers thusly:
(If you’ve bought more than three books at once since the release of Sing Yonder Vol. 5, I’ve *probably* included some stickers. Let me know if I didn’t and I will send you some, otherwise you can buy them from the shop. If you’re a paid subscriber and you don’t have them, or need some more, I will very happily pop some into the next parcel you receive, just shout!)
OK, that is all, more news soon!
